WAAYU is a zero-commission food delivery app. Operating in major Indian cities, WAAYU connects customers with a wide range of local restaurants through a user-friendly, AI-powered platform. Its unique model lets restaurants keep more profits while offering customers better prices and exclusive deals. Integrated with ONDC and backed by industry leaders, WAAYU aims to make food delivery more affordable for consumers and more sustainable for restaurants across India.
WAAYU App offers a zero-commission food delivery platform that allows customers to order from local restaurants without the high fees typically charged by other aggregators. For restaurants, WAAYU provides a subscription-based service, enabling them to maximize profits by paying a fixed monthly or annual fee instead of per-order commissions. The app is integrated with the government-backed ONDC network, helping restaurants reach a wider audience through multiple partner apps. WAAYU leverages AI-powered delivery management to ensure efficient and timely deliveries and also equips restaurants with advanced management tools such as recipe management, self-ordering kiosks, analytics and customer engagement solutions. Additionally, WAAYU plans to introduce value-added services like a marketplace for restaurant supplies, premium listings and advertising options, making it a comprehensive and restaurant-friendly solution in the food delivery industry.
WAAYU’s business model is fundamentally different from traditional food delivery aggregators. Instead of charging high commissions per order, WAAYU operates on a subscription-based model designed to be affordable and sustainable for restaurants.
Subscription Fees: Restaurants pay a one-time setup fee (INR 4,650) and a monthly subscription fee (INR 1,200 for single outlets, INR 2,000 for larger chains per outlet). Annual plans are also available at competitive rates.
Onboarding Fees: A one-time onboarding/set-up fee is charged to new restaurant partners.
Value-Added Services: WAAYU plans to introduce a zero-commission marketplace for restaurants to procure supplies, as well as offer advanced tech solutions like analytics, recipe management and POS integrations for additional fees.
Delivery Charges: Delivery costs are dynamically determined and paid by restaurants or customers, depending on the arrangement. WAAYU partners with multiple logistics providers (Dunzo, Shadowfax, etc.) for efficient last-mile delivery.
Other Revenue Streams: The company has identified up to 16 potential revenue streams, including advertising, premium listings and data-driven services, though not all are active yet.
B2B: Restaurants (from single outlets to large chains) are the primary paying customers, subscribing to WAAYU’s platform and services.
B2C: End consumers use the app to order food from a curated selection of local restaurants, benefiting from lower prices and greater variety.
Aggressive Market Expansion: WAAYU is rapidly scaling to new cities, aiming to onboard tens of thousands of restaurants and capture a significant share of the Indian market.
Strategic Partnerships: Collaborations with ONDC, Tata Neu, OLA, Paytm and other platforms boost order volumes and customer reach.
Product & Tech Innovation: Continuous investment in AI, user experience and restaurant management tools to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Restaurant Empowerment: By eliminating commissions and offering transparent, fixed pricing, WAAYU positions itself as a champion for restaurant profitability and sustainability
